Product Review: Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched

This product is amazing.  There isn't a strong smell and the chapstick actually moisturizes my lips really well.  I am someone who doesn't like to really reapply lip products and I used to never take care of my lips, but as I entered highschool, this was one feature I wanted to take care of.  I use the Maybelline Baby Lips at night for a night treatment and by the time I wake up in the morning, my lips are usually completely healed and moisturized.  I'm the person who would have chapped and pealing bleeding lips and if this helps, I can almost gurantee it'll work for you.  Even if you don't think this will work for you, the good thing about this product is that it's so cheap.  At Target, this product is about $3 and for the quality, I would totally go out and buy this.  Also it contains SPF for those who want to use it during the day.  For a drugstore chapstick, this is the one I would recommend.

Product Review: Maybelline Color Tatoo in Barely Beige

I was at Ulta the other day to spend my birthday gift from them.  I heard from Amarixe on Youtube that Maybelline released 4 limited edition fall colors and I was really interested in the light cream colored Barely Beige.  I had never used this product before, nor any paint pots or anything else like this and I was excited to try it out.  Before as a primer, I used Urban decay primer potion and that works fine, but I actually prefer using the color tattoo.  I either use my index finger to rub the product in or an eye makeup brush.  The pigmentation is great and it helps take one step out of my eye makeup routine.  I later went back and got Mossy Green which I have not yet tried.  With the peachy cream Barely Beige Color Tattoo, I use Loreal Infallible eye shadow in Iced Latte on the lid and Urban Decay eye shadow in Hustle in my crease and outer V.  With black liquid liner and voluminous mascara, I am good to go for the day with a natural yet eye catching look.  The color tattoo helps intensify the look and adds more dimension so I don't need to use as many eye shadows to achieve the same desired effect.  In all, I highly recommend this Color Tattoo and if you use Ulta points or CVS beauty points, you can get this eye shadow for around $2.

You can find this product at:
CVS
Target
Ulta

*All opinions are my own.  These products were purhcased by me and I cannot be held accountable for any injuries or allergies to these products.  I have only tried the Barely Beige so far.

Product Disappointment: Hayworth Collection

I was sooo excited about getting the Hayworth Vanity from Pier One for my birthday.  I had been looking at it for ages and just could not wait to purchase it.  I imaged using it in the morning for getting ready and using it for school, but actually getting to the store and seeing the vanity... crushing disappointment.  I had first heard of this set from YouTube.  Several beauty gurus have this set and it looks great on camera and on pictures, but when I actually saw it in person, I was extremely disappointed and not just a mild disappointment, it was crushing. The grey wood was spray painted and not even spray painted well and the mirror had a foggy kinda frosty appearance and I don't think that's going to help when I'm putting makeup on and trying to make myself presentable.  I think I could probably buy a desk from a garage sale, spray paint it grey, and cut mirrors and glue them on.  It's definitely not worth the investment and if you are looking at this vanity, I would go in store to view it.

Buried Bauble: 8/24/12

I was checking my mail today and noticed an email from Bauble Bar saying that the Buried Bauble was in.  It's jewelry, so I was inclined to check it out, even if it's just to look.  If you don't know what the Buried Bauble is, every Friday, the Bauble Bar website discounts one item for $10.  It could be necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc.  Sometimes the item is better than other times, but today's was a skull bracelet that can in three colors: green, red, and purple.  The website sends out an email to those signed up for newsletters to tell consumers of the Buried Bauble. The reason it is called a buried bauble is because they don't tell you what the item is, you have to search their site for it from the clue they give you.  Today the clue was "Don't loose your head searching for this cornucopia of jewel-toned bracelets" It sounded interesting, so I clicked the link that says start hunting.

This is an interesting bracelet that I would totally check out if you want to try both the skull trend and the jewel-tone trend.  Because the skull has jewels on it, this bracelet is feminine but still edgy.  The gold hardware is eye catching and the deep hues attractive.  I would definitely recommend checking out this bracelet and the best thing is that it's only $10.  But you have to act FAST!!! This offer is only valid on August 24, 2012. *You CANNOT use Vault Points on Buried Baubles.  That is the only downside I think to the Buried Bauble.  The BB is usually not hard at all to find. All you have to do is hover your mouse key over each item to show you the name and price of each item, and yes if it is the Buried Bauble it will have the regular price and the special price listed.

Want to get this bracelet, go to: http://baublebar.com/index.php/rewardsref/index/refer/id/128686/

*Picture came from link listed above.
** The Buried Bauble Posts will become a weekly thing so I can share my thoughts and opinions on the item and maybe this will help you decide whether you want to buy the Buried Bauble or not.

My Current Favorite Bracelets on Bauble Bar

Jewelry is an easy and simple way to complete an outfit and arm candy is the way to go.  Stacked bracelets draws the eye and can spice up a casual outfit.  Bauble Bar is one of the best jewelry sites for bracelets.  There's a wide selection of pieces at affordable prices.  With so many colors and choices, those perfect pieces can be lost in the crowd.

A big trend going on now is skulls, skull bracelets, necklaces, and more.  I'm just not that into skulls and wouldn't want to wear them on my arm, until I found this bracelet.  The Marble Skull Bracelets are a great way to wear this trend, but in an understated way.  Because there is only one skull, your not overwhelming your arm and overdoing the trend.  The bright beads make this bracelet pop and would look nice stacked with other bracelets.

Gold Bow Bracelet- Bows are timeless and classic.  These bracelets have both a girly and edgy feel.  The rhinestones add a little something to an outfit and would look fabulous on its own or stacked.  This is a must have piece for any wardrobe .

Teal Glitz Cuff- This cuff bracelet is gorgeous.  The gold hardware adds a sophisticated touch to the leather and the rhinestones a feminine feel.  Wear this for parties or school, this piece will make an outfit a little more interesting.

A great stacking bracelet is the Bold Bolt Wrap Bracelet.  A feminine leather bracelet with gold studs, this bracelet will be an eye catcher.

My Current Favorite Necklaces on Bauble Bar

One of my favorite jewelry places to shop at is Bauble Bar.  This site has such trendy pieces that are affordable and there's a wide range of pieces so everyone can find a piece they'll love.  Bauble Bar comes out with new pieces every week and has amazing collections.  This is definitely a site worth checking out.  The first thing that I absolutely love about this site other than the jewelry is that if you create an account with them, you automatically get $10 accredited to your account.  And every Friday, there is a Buried Bauble, which is a piece that is on sale, usually for $10!  The quality of the pieces is great and will last years and the shipping quick and easy.  There's such a large selection on the site that it can be easy to miss some amazing jewelry pieces.

My absolute favorite necklace currently is the Princesse Bibs.  These necklaces are very similar to the J. Crew Bubble Necklace, but so much more affordable.  There are so many colors (lilac, teal, orange, cream, pink, etc.) and my favorite is the Summer Princesse Bib, a gorgeous sapphire blue that will pop on any outfit.

Another favorite is the Glam Turq Collar.  This necklace can frame your neckline in a very flattering way.  The shapes draw attention to the neck area, but the light blue color doesn't make it overbearing or obnoxious.  This is a wonderful statement necklace that goes well with a lot of outfits.

The Black Arch Necklace is that staple piece that every woman should own.  The classy black triangles flatter the necklace and glams up any outfit.  This necklace reminds me of one of the House of Harlow necklaces.  The gold chain flatters the black gems and can be worn casually or for special occasions.

The last necklace I will talk about is the Elliptic Bib.  Pair it with a blouse and jeans or a dress, this versatile necklace will add the perfect touch in a small and simple way.
